Had a great Trout trip Today on the Deschutes River around the Maupin Area.There are a lot of Salmonflies out in the grass with a few flying but still a week or more from the main hatch.
We had are best luck fishing with #6 Orange Stimulator and a Tungsten Bead Head #16 Black
I was surprised how many big fish came to the Stimulator, but we also had fish trying to eat our indicator.
Its to early to say there eating the big bugs, but it can work great as a strike indicator that fish will eat.
